Helen's Holiday Blog #2

8-3

y=A sin(Bx +/- C) +/- D

or

y=A cos( Bx +/-C) +/-D

Steps:

1) Follow previous steps for period change with 5 points.
  • take all 5 points and divide by B
2) Add or subtract C from those 5 points ( if the equation is +C you should subtract and vise versa)

3)move ally values up or down.

Examples:

1) y= 3cos(πx + 1/2)+2

amp: 3 period: 2π/π=2

1. o/π=0 1. 0-1/2=-1/2
2. π/2/π=1/2 2. 1/2-1/2=0
3 .π/π=1 3. 1-1/2=1/2
4. 3π/2/π=3/2 4. 3/2-1/2=1
5. 2π/2/π=2 5. 2-1/2=3/2

Then you would graph it.
And your answer would be in a different color
